Hello all -
Just had a PV system installed with a SolarEdge Inverter backfeeding my main panel through a breaker.
Inspector came out a few days ago and warned that I needed to find a very experienced EC if I was going to have a generator installed because I could fry the inverter and the panels unless they are really experienced with PV systems.
What am I missing? If I have a MTS installed to selected circuits (and obviously not to the PV backfeed breaker), aren't the generator and PV system isolated from one another? Additionally, since I'd be using a MTS, couldn't I just disconnect the breaker from the PV system as an added precaution when I lose power from the POCO?
Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks!
