Howdy, does anyone out there know of a manufacturer that will make up P.V. panels to specific sizes?

I do not know of any that will do that, if they did it would be very costly to tool the machines for a custom run.
However not really sure there is really any reason to since you can find panels from a watt or two up to 220 watts with everything in between. Is there some specific voltage you need?MSEE, PE -
Custom panels
Thanks Sunking, It's not the voltage that's the concern. I was looking for a way to integrate the panels with the architecture more. It is hardly new technology and still the machinery of the systems are a bolt on addition. Usually unsympathetic to the building they are on, particular retrofit installations. It is time to build some that can be a concidered part of the building.

customized panels
Dear Mitch,
there exist a couple of manufacturers for customized panels. Depending on what you're looking for you might choose the one or the other.
Unfortunately for you most manufactureres are located in Europe and Asia. Only two are located in the US. From which one - as far as I know - also buy their panels also from a German manufacturer. I consulted, designed and manufactured approximately 35 systems that contain customized pv panels for architectural applications in the US and Canada. Mostly NY, Los Angeles and Vancouver.
As I am a new member here: I don't know about sharing links and images. Just let me know what specifically you would like to know and which cell technology you prefer. Poly- mono or thin film.

Thanks Christof, I would love to get a link to the company you used. Also would like to see some of your work too. I'm not alowed to send my email here I believe, but if you could name the manufacturer, I could search for them.
I'm thinking thin film cells at the moment but basically just scratching a design itch.

Dear Mitch,
most customized pv panels suplliers come from the glass industrie rather than the pv industry. Thus you may look for companies such as Saint-Gobain, Scheuten, Romag or Sunovation. Unfortunately most of them are located in Europe and not in US.
Another good way to get an overview on customized PV is a small booklet that recently has been published, called Energizing Architecture" by Mrs. Claudia Lueling. (written in German and English)

I suspect the insulative quality of the plastic, will prevent you from seeing much gain when you have water flow. I think 1/2" copper tube, coiled into a spiral, and painted black, on a white surface, will give a lot more gain.Comment
