My experience is, even if run below maximum, connections run at considerable power for long
intervals every day will have enough heat/cool cycling to eventually work loose what started as
tight connections.
After burning through a DC and an AC connection in a couple years, I am doing a complete
mechanical check of all connections twice a year. Already found one that might have been
headed for failure. And fairly often do thermal checks (hand and gauge) for any hot spots
at the end of a long power interval. I haven't had any MC4 problems yet, but a hot one
would cause immediate replacement of both halves. good luck, Bruce Roe
