Special inverters required for thin film panels?

I've recently been looking into installing some thin film panels on my house, but have noticed that there are large differences in the open circuit voltage of thin film and conventional crystalline panels. For example, a 90w thiln film has an open circuit voltage of 130V compare to just 45V for 180w crystalline.

The specs on the major brand inverters have an PV Voltage range/MPPT of 150v to 400v. Can you use these inverters? If so, how? They wouldn't have enough strings

Sure they can be used. It just means you do not have as many thin film panels in a string to keep the voltage within specs.The downside is for a large array you will have more strings.

Most inverters wouldn't have enough strings. The SB 1700 for example only has 2, so wouldn't you only be able to fit six 90w/130v panels? ((3x130=390)x2stings). That'll only give a max total 540w

Circuit-breakers

Do I have to use ciruit breakers after each string? I'm planing to build 100kw thin film station with 12 SMC SMA inverters and BOSCH thin film, and I've calculated that I need to use around 220 circuit breakers , which is very expensive

You could use Fuses, and an occasional disconnect switch.

Keep in mind that most circuit breakers for PV are only rated for up to 150V DC that are readily available. If this is an on grid system it will be better to use fuses.
