For those who don't know me, I like to give Mike a hard time about his attar (image). When are the hot dogs going to be done. I've been working on this idea sense the first of the year. Better things are coming. My solar project.
Okay, That seems simple? I wanted the most advance manual tilt legs from a good solar install company to be installed with my 9k grid tie system, (flat roof install). I was not impressed! The tilt legs came from this company. UNIRAC Being this was my first solar power system, I had high expectations.
So I've came up with a device (mechanical / electric). It's 3 1/2" tall, that's right less then 4". Will work on flat or gabled roof. If you need a little help in the winter or a full winter to summer tilt my solar lift will perform for you. I'm shooting for a $50 per unit cost. If I sell the idea you'd never see $50. It's been fun building up a machine shop to the welding shop in my three car garage. Learning how to use Mills, lathes and all the rest of the specialty tools. I broke my second lathe and working to get the third now. The lathes are about 1000lbs each. I'm on my second mill, second chop saw, forth welder, fifth horizontal metal band saw. Yes, all equipment is new. I just return and get a bigger one.
I like to have control, so this will be a multiple manual controled (button activation) system. The motor is carried to groups of panels, charged and tested before use. What I plan is when I clean the panels, I'll adjust the tilt. If I'm lucky I'll get a patent pending before I start to distribute.
