    If I need a disconnect on each pole, can you recommend something plain and simple? Every panel on the string is in series, so close to 500v. Weather goes from below zero worse case (-15 wind chill) to a little above 100 if that matters.
    On my ground based, an inexpensive double combiner box at the array brings fused strings
    together to a pair of feeds. Then there is a DC disconnect switch where the DC feeds connect
    to the inverters. My DC disconnect breaks both conductors, so 4 poles or 2 complete switches
    are required. Having in effect 2 complete identical systems makes it very easy to spot any
    operational problems, by comparing outputs. Bruce Roe

      Because of the array size (4 of them with 12 panels each) and being located on 8 inch gal pipe, the posts are spread out about 22 feet apart. Can I get by with one fused combiner box with a DC disconnect like I linked to before? Or does each post/pipe need a way to have a DC disconnect mounted on each one? Ultimately I want to feed them as you mentioned Bruce into one box with two feeds to the two inverters which would be 100' away, give or take.

        The boxes I have are considerably less expensive than what you showed. You want the
        combiner at the array end, the disconnect(s) at the inverter location. Some inverters
        have an internal DC disconnect switch, but it may be required to be outside.

        My inverters have the capability of doing the combiner and DC disconnect functions
        internally. This would require running individual string wires all the way to the inverters,
        not so practical over any distance. And I like having nice big mechanical, lockable
        disconnect switches outside for any service situations. My combiner is 230' from the
        disconnects. Bruce Roe
