I'm getting ready to install 10-245 Watt panels on my metal roof. I have everything I need but the one thing I don't know for sure is, connecting the actual panels together. Here are the panel spec:
Watts (STC) 245W
Watts (PTC), No
Maximum Power (Vmp) 49.51V
Maximum Current (Imp) 4.95A
Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) 59.45V
Short Circuit Current (Isc) 5.54A
Power Tolerance ±5%
Module Efficientcy No
Mechanical Characteristics
Cell Technology Monocrystalline
Cell Size Others
Cells Per Module 96
I'm doing a 48 volt grid tie and my electrician in in Disney world with his grand children for the next 2 weeks. I want to go forward and at least get the panels installed before he gets back. The question I have is, how many panels can I tie together in parallel with branch connectors? Do I need to mount the combiner box on the roof? How can I fuse between the panel connections? Can I tie 5 panels in 1 circuit and if so what is the best method? Any advice would be appreciated.
