first, he has to find out if Grid-Tie is allowed. Guessing at a 6 hour solar day, the panels should be 3x the daily usage. if he uses 10KW daily, 30Kw of panels (running for 6 hours) would put a pretty good dent in his bill. But the panels will cost a fair amount too, could take 10 years of bill savings to pay for them.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

But on top of the station canopy would be an interesting place to mount them. With some racking to give the right tilt.
And it might draw attention from drivers passing by.SunnyBoy 3000 US, 18 BP Solar 175B panels.Comment

If you are installing a grid tied system, you should install a system considering base load for fastest pay back. Keep in mind that some grid tied inverters are sensitive to voltage fluctuations. You should better discuss voltage fluctuations with supplier of inverter.Comment

We got sunlight from 6:15am to 6:09pm, we at the tropical P.R., I was thinking the same about the Canopy and all drivers by will get their attention, gas station is at the #2 road, the road that goes arround the island.......
Grid tie is allowed, actually the electric company says its the only way allowed but found 7 houses off grid this past week they all cut the cables from post to their houses called the electric company to remove the fake and fraud LCD meter that is doing all the over billing...................AZComment
