    New 250w / 36v solar panel.

I bought this new at a yard sale for $20 un-opened. For now Ive got it on a cheapie 12 / 24v PWM controller on 2 Marine Max batts (12v 114 ah each) in series for 24v. Ive got only a Coleman 12v / 5 amp (new) running off it but my fully charged batts only lasy 6-8 hrs. What am I doing wrong? More panel or batts??

    1. Should I add a 3rd batt to make it a 36v system?
    2. Should I get a 36v controller or will the cheapie 24v controller work?
    3. Seems like the system should work for just a 5 amp cooler.

    What would you do?

EDIT: Going across one of the series 12v batteries doesnt seem right just to get the 12v for the cooler. It would seem that this would drain that battery more and or mess up the chargeing circuit or is that the way its suppose to be done?

post the model and specs of all components.
Are you really running the cooler off of 24V when you say it is a 12V unit?

      250w / 36v

The cooler had minie batt clips on it so I just went across one of the 12v batts.

      * Was that ok or is there a better way?
