Solar PV system for 2 electrical pumps

One of the Moderators here Mike 90250 has a similar situation. he pumps during the day to a storage tank above the orchard. I believe it is straight solar running the pump and gravity to the orchard.

So are you just looking for solar well pumping, or are you going to need some booster pumps too?

I have 2 electrical pumps 2x1kW. They are working 10-15 hours daily - agriculture purpose.

So question - how many solar PV panels (power) for this two electrical pumps?

The real question is what are they doing and what flow rate do you have to get from them? Is it an application where you just need x amount of fluid moved in a day, (like refilling a tank) or do they have to run at certain times? Replacing the pumps with ones intended to run from solar makes the whole system a lot easier if they can just run when the sun is up. Even if you need them at other times, DC pumps from a battery bank will be more efficient than AC pumps run from batteries plus an inverter.

Of course, what's going through them matters too; pure water, pond water, chlorinated water and raw sewage all have different demands on the pump.

You are looking at 9000 to 10000 watts in solar panels, 2 very expensive MPPT charge controllers, and 9000 pounds of batteries.
