    Ditto to what he said.

    If you still feel you need to go solar, you install a "Grid Inter-Tie" system, if the Utility in your area allows it. Just panels and inverter, spins your meter backwards daytime, fwd at night. Looking at some big bucks to pay for it, and must get permits, approvals and inspections.

    How much are you paying per KWH for electricity? You probably can't justify the solar for the pool pump.

    Here's a better idea: switch to a 2-speed pool pump and cut your electricity bill in half. On 1/2 speed the pump will pump 1/2 the water but only use 1/8 the electricity. So you have to run your pump longer but still use less electricity to do it.

    Hey everybody I'm new here and need some help. I'm trying to run my pool pump off a solar system. I need help finding out the correct setup I need to power a 220 volt 9.7 amps pump all day every day. Thanks for any help I'm a rookie at this stuff.
