water pump system design for off grid cottage

    Hello all,

Looking for input on my idea for a solar pump water system at the cottage. I need to pull water from about 600-700 ft from our cottage. The idea is that I will pull water from the lake via a Shurflo 24v surface pump(2088-573-534) or possibly a shurflo submersible pump and push it up a 40-50 foot near vertical bank to a 500 gallon tank. I want to go PV direct and fill during daylight hours. From there the supply will run from the resevoir tank down a long gradual slope to our cottage approx 600 feet away....the drop from tank to cottage is probably a total of 50-60 gradual feet which should give me decent pressure.

one of my concerns is that I would like to put the pump controller and panels by the resevoir tank(better light) approx 80-100 feet away from the pump and waters edge. Therefore I will need to run the wire from the Panel(s)/controller to the pump approx 100ft ....will this work? will there be a significant current drop to flaw the design?

Also, any idea what i should be looking at for panels? how many/size?

How does this sound? Any ideas to improve the design?

Thanks in advance ...I'm sure Sunking and Naptown will be all over this
