  • PV to run pump

I need to run vertical turbine pump static water level is = 127M
    total head 201 M
    pumping rating is 1100 GPM
break Hp for the pump = 280Hp the Diesel engine we have now 411hp
we need to run on solar power and replace the engine by electric motor 350 hp and the solar plant should be designed to run on day only with maximum 10hr per day on summer no need for power at night (no batteries ). is it possible?
what is solar system capacity i need ?
and which brand i should used and how much it will cost ?

Good luck with that one. Going to take at least 300,000 or more watts of panels, and millions of dollars to pull it off for poor performance.

If the PV panel is exposed to the sun and there is no drain on it for a while (if cylinder is hot) will it be damaged?

It would not be a solar PV panel but a solar thermal panel from your description.
