Thinking outside the box for a moment If there was a stream going 10-15 knots what about placing a trolling motor in the stream. It is basically a 12V motor that in theory should produce power if turned by the current. The prop would certaiinly need to be modified in pitch and diameter but theoretically should work.

If it was a gas trolling motor would it make petrol? Or does that only work for electrical motors?
