    Apologies if this is a repeat, but I've done searches on the forum and couldn't find if this has been posted.

    This is the most useful 'real figures' chart I have been able to find during a lot of research on 12-24V fridges for small solar energy systems:

    4WD Action Magazine Mega Fridge Comparo (google it, I'm avoiding links).

    The chart on page 2 puts the Dometic (new name for Waeco) CF50 at an average of 0.88 amps. So fudge factor it up to 1, multiply by 12V system, and then by 24 hours, gives 288 watt hours per day, which maybe could be fudge factored up to 300 watt hours per day.

    Do you think this is a realistic number to use when planning systems using the Dometic CF50?

    That's the principal I'd use.

    1a x 12v = 12w . 12w x 24h= 288wh plan on 300wh

    But that's likely amusing it's already chilled and the food installed is cold. loading warm beer will consume more power
