Why would you take perfectly good batteries and make a 12v bank from them.

There is so much wrong with this idea not sure where to start. First operating at 12 volts is really a horrible idea. At 2500 watts power input would require you to use 2 very expensive Midnite Solar 80 amp controllers which is another $2000 you have not even though about yet. For that much solar panel wattage would require 48 volt battery or 8 of those batteries. With 6 the only possible configuration is 12 volts.

From reading your other post it looks like you intend to discharge them 50% each day which means you get at best 2 years out of them before you have to replace them. If you do the math you will quickly learn just in battery cost alone you will now be paying 50-cents per Kwh. Bet you only pay the POCO some 12 cents for the same Kwh.

Have you put any thought into this, or just winging it?

6 Batteries was a typing error. I intend to run a 48v battery bank with I'm thinking 16-24 batts. I have roughly 8k for the battery bank so once I figure out how many I'll need to stay above 75% charge ill start picking out the rest of the gear.

Why would I pay someone to pick out the components I need when we have forums?

Ill pay for the wiring by a certified electrician and that's about it.

I'm thinking a 1Kw turbine on a 40ft tower and 2.5-3.5Kw of panels.

I would like to figure something out so the panels are synchronized and track the suns geo rotation.

Granted I know everyone is a brain surgeon around here, I was just looking for some help.

Batteries are made in 2V 4V 6V and 12V you only want to series them so 16 doesn't work as 3V batteries for this application do not exist

Keep your money and spend it on someone who knows what they are doing In most places in the world this will be a waste of money

They are called trackers and are commercially available (at a cost however)

That is an insane amount of energy for a battery system. It will take a 7000 pound battery that cost $26,000 USD. In 3 years when you replace that battery you will be paying $1/Kwh in battery cost. How much does the utility charge you? 13 cents per Kwh?
