You have two problems. Finding a 24 volt inverter in th e300 to 400 dollar range will be difficult because at 24 volts is usually a high wattage unit, and high wattage units will have a higher price tag.
Second answer is if the inverter has plug receptacles means it is not approved to be used with premisses wiring systems (part of your home wiring). But the answer is the same as above a inverter made for premisses wiring systems are going to be fairly high wattage units and you are not going to find one in the $300 to $400 range.
Affraid you are going to need to up your game into the 4-digit range to find what you want like an Xantrex ProSine 3000 inverter.

put a plug and transfer switch on the lighting circuit and plug it in. I assume this is for an RV or whatever. That would be the easiest. If there is also a possibility of mains power being on the circuit make sure you can isolate the two. A three way switch is the easiest way to do this. Item to be used on the common terminal, Mains and inverter on the traveller terminals.Leave a comment:

Need help finding the right inverter
Im trying to find a 500- 1000 Watt inverter thats 24V to 120V. In the price range 100 to 300 dollars. Do you guys have any recomedations for me? Also i need to hardwire it directly into my system but i can only find the inverters that have the AC outlets. How can i directly wire the inverter to lets say a light system?
