Some things you must have. First, electronic knowledge, an electrical schematic, parts list will help ...maybe, oscilloscope, multimeter. And MOST important is electronic knowledge. And even with knowledge and tools, microelectronics just do not lend themselves to shade tree mechanics for repairs. But good luck--
EDIT: Return it to the manufacturer for repair/replacement -

I was really inquiring whether anyone knows how I could source parts and 3rdparty technical support. I already have the skills and equipment.
Actually - the damage was caused by someone who was trying to be helpful in assisting me while I was away on another project.Comment

In making my original post I assumed this Solarpaneltalk.com forum would facilitate sensible discussion and meaningful ideas to solve problems. Sadly I now realize it is dominated by persons more interested in making meaningless comments a wise cracks - I am amazed. Are there no responsible moderators to get bigoted members shut up if they can’t contribute positively to a topic.
This must be a set of jokers assembled here - I challenge the moderators to prove otherwise.Comment

It is possible that no one wants to add to your issues by giving bad information or advise. I can ban anyone that I feel is not providing useful information but also advise most that what is provided here may not be either safe or wise so follow the advise at your own risk or try to find a professional that understands the problem and can really help you. Just remember advise here is free and a professional may charge you.In making my original post I assumed this Solarpaneltalk.com forum would facilitate sensible discussion and meaningful ideas to solve problems. SunEagle - let me apologize for incorrectly assuming that a moderator’s role is to not only ban errant members but it also includes taking measures to encourage meaningful and positive discussions. I am so sorry about my error that I now promise to avoid making any future comments on this forum. I will move on. ThanksComment
