starting voltage too high

It should work but you run the risk of getting more than 117V if the panel temperature gets real low. I am unfamiliar with that CC but a quality one will usually accept input voltage that exceeds the max rating but others can fry themselves. You have to determine if you want to take the risk or not.i have 3 panels 300w 29voc in serial = 117V. can i get this device working, even if it has starting voltage defined to 120V?

thats opposite problem. 120v is not the max voltage, but the min starting voltage. max voltage is about 500vdc on this device...Comment

Don't buy that piece of junk, especially when you're going to be running that high of voltage.i have 3 panels 300w 29voc in serial = 117V. can i get this device working, even if it has starting voltage defined to 120V?

Get victron 3kw multiplus and a couple mppt controllers. My Epever controller isn't Enterprise-grade by any means but they are cheap and reliable.
I recommend going with something on Amazon if buying cheap. That way you're at least good for 30.days if doa.Comment

you mean this inverter + couple of regulators + 2000w charger?
https://www.amazon.com/Victron-Energ.../dp/B01AD2MJSK
so we can get to 4000 usd instead of 300 for all-in-one machine with same characteristics?Comment

About $1700.00.you mean this inverter + couple of regulators + 2000w charger?

The stuff you're looking at will break in a year. Look at the Amazon reviews.
Edit: I realize I might be coming off a little jerkish. I purchased that cheaper stuff and it failed within the 30 day return on Amazon which is a God send because once you're beyond that, you will receive absolutely no help or communication from those companies. It's tempting but if you want to save some dough you don't have to go full victron or outback.
Piece together cheap but well-know brand names that will at least an return an e-mail and honor their warranty.
Epever, AIMS, Renogy etc.
My system consists of a 3000 watt aims inverter, an epever 100 amp CC, an rv transfer switch and a progressive dynamics battery charger.
I have 70 Amps charging off "grid power", 100 charging for solar, 3000 watts inverter output (6000 surge) and rv quality 30 amp transfer switch.
$450.00 foe the inverter, $400.00 for the mppt charger, $90.00 foe the transfer switch and $220.00 for the battery charger.
About $1260.00 and if one component fails I can just replace that one component.

If you go cheap while building a solar pv system you end up with a lot of expectations that will not be met. Anyone that thinks solar is cheap is not thinking clearly.you mean this inverter + couple of regulators + 2000w charger?
