I'm building a large RV off grid system. 2200 Watts solar to 800Amps Lifepo4. I'm looking at the Victron 3000 Multiplus vs the Magnum MS series. Does anyone have opinions on these or recommendations? It will be a 24Volt system and I'm looking for it to be very robust and low maintenance. Any thoughts?

I assume your batteries are 800 Watthours not Watts. That seems small but it may depend on what you are powering. The inverter looks large compared to the size of the batteries.
What are your loads?Last edited by Ampster; 01-03-2020, 12:22 PM.9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012 -
Amps. Thank you for pointing that out. Oversight. Loads are 300-400 watts/hour average. Max loads are 1500 Watts 5-10 minutes. Surge to 2000 Watts.Comment

Based on that; you are pushing those batteries pretty hard. At 300 Watts per hour your batteries will give you two hours with a little margin.9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012Comment

300 watts/ hour @ 24V = 12.5 Amps/hour. I will have 800 Amps of Lifep04. Aside from the math, I was looking for advice on the inverters.Comment

Okay now that we have the battery capacity figured out correctly as 19,800 Watthours then your inverter capacity looks fine. My only inverter experience is with Outback or SolarEdge so I don't have anything further to add.9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012Comment
