    I have 10w Photo Voltaic solar panel and a Kemco charge

    regulator with a Luyuani Power DX-GAXI 1500

    1500W DC to AC DC12Vto AC220V USB

    1500W and 2 15ah mobility batteries in parallel

    I do not like the Kemco regulator and wish to

    change it for a Floureon Solar Panel 12/24V Battery Charge W/ Controller

    but on the instructions no

    mention is made of using a Inverter. I am a time

    served electrician now retired but never did nothing

    with solar stuff. The panel etc is in a building on

    some land I own that does have mains

    electricity into it but for my needs now solar power

    is all I need. So again will I still need the Inverter if

    I change the regulator, I think I will but thought I

    should ask the experts.

    A 10 watt panel is barely enough to maintain float voltage on your batteries. I doubt you need a charge controller. As soon as you connect the inverter to the tiny system it will draw more power than your panel can produce. My guess is if you leave the inverter on overnight without any load at all your batteries will be dead in the morning.
    Do some reading on this site, especially the "stickies" pertaining to batteries and off grid solar. Proper systems are designed around your loads. and built from there.

      Is it a 10W solar panel? If so the inverter will consume all that, maybe even a bit more.

      If it's 100W and 10W was a typo, then it'll do for charging those USB mobile power banks.

      The 1500W inverter is overkill though, and may consume more power than what is required to charge the power banks.

      Also, I assume your Kemco charge controller is a PWM model. From what I know some of those can work without a battery, others won't work with no battery. Some other models I've seen have a USB charging port, so your can do away with the inverter and charge the USB power banks directly.

      Without knowing the exact model of type charge controller is hard to know.

      Of your intention is only to charge those USB power packs, then maybe you are better off buying some kit specifically made to charge phones using solar power.

        Thanks for the replies, it is obvious I have little idea

        of what I am trying to do. I followed the instructions

        on a website called Run Your Shed Off Grid with

        seven steps on how to do this. The devices used are

        what I have used (10w panel same inverter and charge

        controller) but I am going to get nowhere that way. So

        if this is the right place to ask I would like to know

        what do I really need to run five 12v lights a wifi signal

        booster a a device that collects information and then

        send this information to mobile phones in texts and I

        also have a Satellite Dish. The wifi booster and

        information device seem to take very little out of the

        batteries. I will be great full for any replies on this.

            That's not going to be a cheap install. Sat Rx & Booster are going to likely consume 50w combined, x 24h = 1200wh consumed daily. That's about what a fridge consumes.

            If you are able to get household power out there, that's going to be a better way.

            If you need an inverter to get the 12V up to Grid voltage to power the boxes, there's more expense and power losses.

            To harvest 1200w, you will need at least 400w of panels, not counting what's needed after a couple cloudy days and the batteries are low and need recharge
