Help with solar basement sump pump back-up - Pump Sentry

I am looking for a solution for back-up to our basement sump pump particularly for when we are away.

Generally a power outage is no more than 24-48h. There is a non-solar invertor system called Pump Sentry but is there a solar system I could use to charge the batteries that power the Pump Sentry, or at the price of $1500 should I be looking at a completely different set-up? (I do want to use more solar in the future) Thanks in advance for comments and help.

Solar is a terrible backup. The time the pump is running a lot is likely when there is little sun,
killing a solar system. A battery pump is not so much different than a starter motor, the battery
is only going to last a short time. I have seen my pump running nearly continuously under
severe conditions, a good backup might be an automatic cutover generator running off your
natural gas. Does the house too. Bruce Roe

If you have city water there are siphon systems that use utility water pressure to drain basements. Far more reliable than solar a at less cost in the $200 range.

Wrong application and a poor one at that. Much better and less expensive options for mission critical applications. All you need is a good battery charger, battery, and possible and Inverter depending on th etype of pump motor being either AC or DC. DC is the best option as it eliminates the Inverter.

I also would recommend the siphon or "water powered" system

Use a regularly powered sump as your main one, and setup the siphon system to only activate if the regular pump fails.

City water pressure rarely fails, so it's a very reliable backup - it does cost you some in your water bill if it activates - but better that than a flooded basement.
