If/when you expand the system, I would say, go with 48v.
A 48v system will reduce losses in the wire run from the solar panels to the battery/charge controller.
It is more reducing the losses from the CC to the battery and from the battery to the Inverter.
There are other benefits but the losses from the PV modules to the CC should be about the same regardless of battery voltage.
