My guess is that the electric bike battery will (may) just get some additional charging from the solar panel.

IMO the extra drag from the panel may easily negate whatever extra charge the battery gets but it is the OP's experiment and they may be on to something that is productive or at least fun.

With a tail wind you might get better performance by using the panel as a sail. lol

Have you figured how much power you will accumulate with this say, 100 watt panel, for example.

I will use 4 panels of 100 watts. Just like the winner used in the 7000 km competition.
here is his daily production (usually between 2000 and 3000 Wh per day)

12v would be the nominal rating of the panel. 18v would be the VMP rating of the panel. They are both intended to charge a 12v battery.

at 2 m^2 , yes you are right... and the wind could be a risk , I will be afraid of passing van.

Typical human bikers put out about 100 watts and they've ridden across the US. A few years back someone rode across the US with a 240 watt, 10 pound panel and a Specialized E-bike.

myself, I use an ebike, with a 780 Wh battery, and did 4200 km on a trip in the usa. I was doing about between 100 km and 140 km a day.
before that trio my longest day on a bike was 50 km, and I have knee problem

I am doing the solar panel bike mostly to learn, and have fun. If it work better than my current ebike I might do a longer trip with more km a day.
