Looking for efficient DC refrigerator for medical clinic in Haiti

    Hello solar folks

I'm heading to Haiti in less than a month to put a PV system on a medical clinic so they can have a refrigerator to keep medicine cold and lights to examine patients.

It appears Sunfrost is no longer making refrigerators.

Does anyone know of anything similar? I found Sundanzer.com so far. They look great but they don't have any combo units and the doctors specifically asked for the ability to both refrigerate and freeze some medicines. If i can't find anything else I will probably get two units from sundanzer. Believe it or not they have a dealer down in Haiti. but cost is an issue so I'm searching for other choices and presumably an R/F unit will be cheaper than two separate units.

But I'm still searching for a single unit if there is one.

It must be DC. I don't want this clinic to be reliant on another gizmo (inverter) to keep things running. KISS rule.

    any info is appreciated.

if interested there is info about our project here:

Sometimes, a plain old simple energy star fridge, and a bump up in the inverter department, is cheaper and as effective as a $$$$ specialty fridge.

yes I thought about that, but in this case I'd rather not have an inverter that will eventually crap out even if it's a good one (I would go with outback). the less hardware the better, because servicing the system is not possible. Plus the Sundanzer is so much more efficient than a college dorm fridge, not to mention i'll lose another 10% across the inverter. we need a few more bucks and we can afford the DC efficient fridge and keep it simple.
