Hi thanks if any one can take the time to answer my questions.
I bought 2 100 watt poly crystalize(direct blue shades of crystals) pannels at Canadien tire. I also bought the pwm 30 amp Coleman charge controller. As for the battery I bought a single lead acid battery from princess auto it is a 1000 cranking amp .no markings on it as to amp hour. As I've read that in the solar world that's how batteries are usualy marketed.
As far as my understanding of automotive batteries they are usualy tested to 10 hour depletions. And for the calculations I've made for my self is that it has 1000 amps of life wether I use it all in one hour or 10?
For the pannels I live in Canada so they are at a 30° angle on the ground. And I move them about 3 times a day to track the sun. The charge controller usualy tells me that in good sunlight I'm getting 10.7amps at 14.4 volts. Wich based on what I understand would mean that im drawing 154.8 watts from my 2 pannels. Wich isn't bad considering I live in Canada and it's a cheap charge controller?
Now I've read some where that the pwm charge controller are better for me since I'm using a lead acid battery. Apparently the pulse charging it uses is gentler on the lead acid battery, wich will make it last longer?
Now when it comes to my daily power consumption. I've come to understand that with this system it would be suited to only be using 33.33 amps 399.96 watts a day for long battery life .wich the battery would deplete after 3 days of not charging and leave a minimal charge in the battery. And up to 50 amps 600 watts, wich would last 2 days but then fully dead battery.
If any one could confirm this is the limitation of my system or give me some pointers, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks
