    Solar Powered Fuel Pump

I am looking solar solution to use for my fuel tanks that carry 1000 gallons of fuel, i need to power the pump to the tanks. is this possible or would it be horribly expensive? how much would i be looking at spending and what solutions are available? i know very little about solar energy. also would a dynamo be a possible solution, and how long would you have to crank to fuel up?

Hello zachleez and welcome to Solar Power Talk

It would be hard to calculate what you need without knowing the daily watt hours used by the pumps and your location. Even if the cost of running grid power for your loads is high a solar/battery system usually costs much higher to run the same electrical load.

Depends on the details - how high the tank is, how long you have to do it, how small the pipe is, what kind of fuel etc. If you have time, a pump compatible with the fuel and a moderate head you could do it very cheaply - a single ~300 watt panel, an LCB and a slow DC pump.

Hand crank pump up to a elevated holding tank, then use gravity to do the rest.

The pump would be used 2 hours a day and that would be if it was continuous, which its not, only used maybe 5 or ten minutes at a time over the courser of a twelve hour day. The pump is listed being 7.7 amps i believe?

its 120 Volts pr like 121 volts i don't remember. The pump is only a few inches off the ground it stands roughly 7 feet high and holds 1000 gallons of Gasoline. the pumps nozzle is smaller than a gas station pump like half the size. .

Also i am interested in finding a hand crank generator to assist in the solar panels or to help during startup. By the way the pump is a slow start meaning its gradual and doesn't require massive power right away. any sites related to fuel based solar panel pumping stations,

It's real easy to design something to bad specs, and then have it not work at all.
So get the power requirements of the pump, Volts, AC or DC, Amps, Starting amps and total running hours per day. Then we can recommend gear that will have a good chance of working with the specs you give. BEWARE - if you mis-read a label, or the specs are wrong, or there are 3 other pumps you didn't tell us about, it's guaranteed to NOT work.
