If you are only taking your batteries down 5% at night they could work especially for a buck a piece.

Yeah, that's a nice inverter. since you use such a small amount of night time power, the two best of the lot should meet your usage needs, but with much less room for error, including cloudy days, can you charge with a generator when needed?4X Suniva 250 watt, 8X t-105, OB Fx80, dc4812vrfComment

Not sure what you mean by "the two best of the lot." I wouldn't think 200AH would be enough. I do run a 900 watt hot water element but only once the batteries are full. The inverter pulses every 2 seconds when nothing is asking for power so its quite efficient.

Hot water element? Did you mean you took your previous batteries down to 5% SOC every night? Meaning you used 95% of their capacity each night.
Oh and if the batteries are truly only $1 each and not too much hassle to install might as well give it a try. Even if they don't work you will save a lot of money on core charges when you buy new batteries.Conext XW5548

Yes my batteries were over charged for a couple of weeks due to using incorrect voltage settings in the controller. They are 8 x 6 volt. 220AH 2007 vintage so they are about out anyway.
It sounds like the HAZE batteries are the wrong sort so will scrap them.
Thanks for your comments.
