I was on my way from home to pick up some ducks in portland ontario, I got lost and they appeared while I was driving near Merrickville, Ontario. Sorry, I can't remember where I was.Comment

It is on the East side of Rd 15 about 4.5 miles north of North Augusta and about 1.25 miles South of Wolford Centre.
I am still amazed that the array could withstand any type of high wind.Comment

Fantastic. Although there must be another installation near by. As the photo I took has 4 buildings all similar, with a bunch of old farm buildings alongside. BTW when i was in google earth mode using maps. google dot ca, the array does not show up. see screen shot. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

Looks good from Google Earth. It looks like five buildings, each with 204 panels. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

I figured Higher-Ground Farm was really, really, pulling our leg. Usually I check the calendar for April 1 when I see someone sticking to their guns....
Unbelievable.
Maybe they are COMBO PV + Wind units and twirl while catching the solar.Comment

To answer the question in the subject line - this is a big tilted single axis tracker. Possibly the tilt aligns with the earth axis (poles) in which case it's a "Polar aligned single axis tracker"
One of the google street-view you can see the 3 spots it's attached to the roof - middle and endpoints of the roof ridge.

My other question is that single house had quite a bit of land around it so why would they build the array on the house instead of a ground mount?Comment

The satellite imagery is from 2005 before they were built. I also found them on street view. Crazy array design.Comment

You could say this is a ground mount that's large enough you can fit a building under it.
With the group of 5 buildings/arrays it must be a solar farm selling the power to the grid... Maybe with the long hours of summer this comes up better for pricing for power sold to the POCO(s)Comment
