    Wireless bridge design

    Aloha all,
I am designing an outdoor wireless bridge, however I do not have any power source in the area. I need to figure out how much power, with battery, I will need to keep the wireless bridge running The device uses 12V 1.5A. I live in Hawaii and would like some help on this

    Thanks,

        Your constant load is for 24/7 ? 12x1.5= 18 watts .
How long are you going go have sun for? In the simplest terms if it is only 6 hrs full sunlight then you need at least 24/6=4 times as much solar power as your load. So you would be looking for 100 watt panel(rounding up).
For battery you don't want to draw down more than 50% in 24 hours . 1.5 amps for 24 hours is. 36 amp hours but you only want to draw down 1/2 puts you at a 72 amp hr battery. This is the simple way to calculate your needs. It is small enough you can error on the high side and not break the bank.

If you start considering you might loose days in a row without sunlight you can see the amp hour rating quickly climbing. So how reliable your sun is will be important for you to consider. trees?
