Frozen Solar Charge Controller - Debug Mode

Hello - I have recently purchased a Suoer ST-G1230 12v / 24v Charge controller in Pakistan (perhaps not the best charge controller). When I plugged in the battery, panel and a small load of a 10 watt bulb and made some changes to the power mode from on/off to timed off, the charge controller went into debug mode (17) and refuses to come out of it. I have powered it off and on many times, kept the mode button pressed for many minutes (as recommended) but nothing happens. The charge controller is lighting the bulb but just can't bring it out of debug mode. I was hoping that someone may have some tips on how to sure this. Many thanks in advance.

Did you connect the CC to the battery before connecting it to the PV?
Most CCs will not boot correctly if the panel is connected before the battery.

At the moment I'm running the charge controller without the panel attached to see if I can get it out of debug mode. I did try it earlier with everything connected in the order that they should be but that's when the problem started.

Sadly, most charge controllers with LOAD outputs, have severe limits on how much power the LOAD terminals can supply. Usually less than 1 amp. So it's possible that the bulb damaged the controller.

Try unplugging everything for an hour, then short the output (batt) terminals, short the PV terminals for 5 min (to bleed down any capacitor charge internally) then remove the shorts and connect ONLY to the Battery terminals, and try the reboot/recovery process. Don't connect the solar terminals or the load, just the battery.

It didn't work I'm afraid. Tried everything but it looks like I may have a sick charge controller.
