Yes they call it grid tie inverter. you have to have the grid for it to work.

You do for a battery Inverter. Grid Tied is not the same thing as it requires current. Battery Inverters require voltage. Two different animals.

And please explain, "panels are current sources not voltage sources."

Go short out a 1000 watt panel and nothing happens because it is a current source. Go short out a 12 volt 10 AH battery and you go to the hospital and will understand the difference.
