  • about MPPT tracer Want to know .

    HI all .

    i m using tracer mppt RN4010 by EP .
in its manual it is mentioned the max PV input should be 1080 watts .
But in my case i have observed that i never reached that much Watts in PRACTICAL with my 980 watts solar array , in peak times i usually getting 800 watts max so can i ADD a few more watts panel (200 watts) in the grid ? will it b safe for the charge controller ? i measure the current coming from my grid is 24 Amps MAX (never got more than that and the panel voltage at that peak current is 32 volts or less) means 33 X 24 = 792 watts i m getting at peak .

    plz advice .

    Thanks

Quality MPPT controllers will manage the power output to stay within their safe operating limits. So, a small amount of overpaneling is generally OK, as long as the power peak and clipping is generally short term. Operating at max limits for more than half an hour IS going to shorten the life of the components.
