Thanks for straightening that out... My first thought (when I saw it) was that a 32 cu ft chest freezer full of water would weigh about a ton, and I didn't think that something that only drew as much current as a 9000 btu window unit could freeze that much ice in a day. But I saw that the calculation got past inetdog, so I didn't try to calculate it independently.

I try to limit mistakes to one per year and get it out of the way on 1 January. After that I simply don't bother to count for the remainder of the year.

The idea of it is to insulate the ice from the surface of the bucket so that it does not condense water?

Same amount of ice in a neck or wrist pack will provide personal cooling exactly were it is needed at lower cost.
