hello, new to solar, just purchased a 240 watt solar panel and a 30 amp mppt provista programmable controller, I will be using this system to power my rv, but I don't want to mount the panel on my roof of my rv, I have built a electrical shed for this purpose, and will be housing as well a 1000xantrex pure sine inverter, and all the components for the system, my panels will be located about 50 feet away, still have to figure out the wiring for this. In the process looking to purchase batteries as well, have it narrowed down to either Trojan 6volt 225 amp hours, or the usbattery 6 volt 232 amp hour battery, will be needing 4 batteries making 2 12volt banks for an 460 amp hour total est... because I purchased the panels in another town, I am getting flak from a dealer saying that the panel I purchased is crap, he says it is designed for grid tie purpose only, does this make sense??
also does the 30amp controller able to charge these 4 batteries, will only be using the system from Friday night to sunday morning, giving the rest of the week to charge the batteries. another question, the xantrex pure sine inverter is going to be used for only running a movie projector drawing 3.2 amps ac and will be running the projector for about 3 hours tops a night unless the neighbors call the police, I had an idea about purchasing a car amp to power the music for evening events as we watch music videos, and the laptop is good for 3 hours without plugging in, I figure I will charge the laptop and iphone during the day, anyone ever tried a car amp tied into there solar system, think its a good idea since its dc powered?? and last question, I am trying to figure how to wire the leads from the controller to my rv, I am thinking about drilling a hole thru the side of the trailer and putting some kind of plug so I can unplug when I take the rv on a trip, I am not sure as well where to hook up the controller, but was told to tie it to the rv transformer. lots of questions any comments greatly appreciated thankyou.
