    Morningstar MPPT-45, LED meaning

    Here are the facts:

    - CC voltage reading: 12.5v
    - 250 W panel fully exposed to the sun.
    - LED on CC: Yellow and Red lit together, NOT flashing.
    - only 3 amps coming through.

This seems odd. As per the manual, Yellow + Red means battery is close to being fully drained while the voltage is at 12.5. Also, if battery were close to empty i would expect to see a lot more amperage being delivered.

Any ideas of why this may be happening?

I have the digital front panel meter on my MPPT 60, which also has the web interface.

Try measuring the PV input voltage, what do you have there ?

Shut the whole thing down and power it up thusly:

Connect to battery and wait 2 minutes for the controller to completely boot up

    Then
Connect to PV, and it should sweep, and ramp up to full power in a couple of seconds.

But without input and output voltages, can't tell whats up
