Sounds like you have a good strategy and an effective setup to get through those brownouts. Despite my misgivings about NMC chemistry, I did use some used Nissan Leaf NMC modules in a garage for three years without incident. From my point of view almost any Lithium battery is a better long term value than AGMs. That view is not shared among posters on this forum.Last edited by Ampster; 03-23-2021, 02:23 PM. -
Hi
Ok I have more info now the seller has come back with the exact item description. Ignore the typo 48v it's 24v
I will be storing the cells in a steelbox outside the house. And temps here in North Thailand are warm enough. We get a lot of brown outs here, hours of 70v -100v and the poor villages just watch there fans and other appliances burn out. I've got a voltage monitor that cuts out at 175V and back in at 215v from Lazada also. I was gonna go the usual lifepo4 route but the vendor says these are better and shop is highly recommended and reviewed. You can see the effort put into the battery builds. I will be choosing a 1500w PSW Souer inverter and a couple of 100 panels to recharge the batteries or maybe a single 350w. I was recommended a 50w panel for my 38w AGM battery but after choosing a 100w I found it produced 5.5A at midday but other than then 2.9A either side of midday.
I'm thinking 100-150w of fans etc to get thru a rare all night power cut.
Thoughts on the set up appreciated.

Do you know enough about what that safety device is to manage the risk? Do you know the safe charging parameters for NMC? You asked for thoughts and you have my thoughts.m
You are free to choose any battery you want.Leave a comment:

NMC is a much more volitile chemistry than LiFePo4. I have NMC in my EVs but the manufacturer has built in safeguards that are difficult to in a stationary battery. I use LiFePo4 to power my home.Last edited by Ampster; 03-23-2021, 02:11 AM.Leave a comment:

NMC Batteries
Hi
I was about to order some 50 AH LiFePo4 cells from a really well respected vendor on Lazada. He then suggested I choose some 75 AH NMC Batteries he has at a good price to clear , forget the 120AH text but look the images and 75AH details. He mentioned these are better as they don't require active balance and as I will be away from the set up for long periods I want as less to go wrong as possible.
Any thoughts ? Is this battery worth a punt or should Istay LifePo and get all the bits ?
