AGM batteries - do they demand a minimum charge current?

From an anecdotal standpoint, with other agm's that I have with a maximum current limitation, I just try and push as much as I can without going over the limit.

Which is a lot easier to do if you have a shunt on the battery so you can measure the real current in and out instead of having to depend on the current output from the CC which may be going to both the battery and variable loads at the same time.

That's a great point I didn't consider since my solar application has no load and is only for charging the battery.

I talked with AGM battery company MightyMax today and they specified 4 to 8 amps charge rate for 35AH battery. That equates to minimum C/9.
I called them to ask if they had a recommendation for a minimum supply voltage into the charge controller? I will have the ability to control that and would like to use the smallest value possible without going too low. Any suggestions?
