Not too pricey? ...and just how much was your winning bid on 24@ 43 pound batteries retailing at $150@? That's over half a ton of pretty much useless batteries for solar power.

awww... My morbid sense of humor was enjoying this thread. Can understand his shouting after finding out how he wasted so much money. He doesn't seem to be into the numbers of working out the most efficient, reliable PV system.... or the numbers in his bank account.

Hint to off grid newbies; Not having a complete understanding of batteries will cost you big time. Get into the numbers, plan before you buy.

I guess the exuberance of a "great buy" at an auction is hard to live down once you find out what you purchased is next to useless.

Just like some of the other posts where people either find "free" solar pv items that have been thrown out or they got them on fleebay for next to nothing. Like most times you get what you pay for.

Fools and their money will soon be separated.

        Here is my take.

A company had a young inexperienced out of college technician who needed new batteries for his company UPS. Bought the wrong battery. Company is now trying to salvage as much as they can to minimize losses and put the batteries up for auction. Some damn fool bought them and has no idea what he bought and hoped it would work out.

My advice is do what the Company did and auction them off to minimize your losses. Find another sucker or a company who can actually use then and buy them for a dime on the dollar.
