  • Narada REXC400 2 volt lead carbon batteries.

Hi, i have bought 12 of the above batteries for a 24 volt solar system.
11 of the batteries measure at 2.104v and one at 2.057v. The supplier say to connect the 11 up with a load and bring them all down to 2.057v then connect all in series and start normal cycling. Does this seem correct?
    Cheers,

    I can see 3 options.

Do what they said, which would be a pain.

Equalize them to try to balance if that is possible with those batteries.

Use a 2 Volt charger/power source to see if the odd one will come up.

Thanks, I'll try and charge the low one and discharge the rest a bit. I have a wind generator dump load that I think will draw about 25amps.

No, the one battery is definitely faulty. What about the idea of putting 11 in and changing my Outback inverter trip to a lower voltage and also lower absorb and float on my Midnite Classic? Running a 22 volt system for a couple of months till the new battery arrives?
        Cheers,

On advice i connected all the batteries in parallel which fixed the low voltage battery after a few days. Took a lot of cables but luckly i had plenty of jumpers.
