A 12v 1 amp charger is a trickle charger designed to keep an already full battery full at a float voltage. I will very slowly charge a battery but it isn't designed to do it so you probably won't get a full charge.

Hogwash and Chicken Teeth, you do not know what you are talking about.

A 12 volt 1 Amp charger is a very large fast charger for a 6 AH battery. In fact depending on the battery type (ie Gel) could be to large for 6 AH battery. Now if he had a 60 AH battery or larger would be a Trickle Charger. Let me educate you John, A Trickle Charger is one that provides roughly =< C/33. A charger of C/6 is a large fast charger. A 1-amp charger is exactly like a 100-amp charger, both can be a Trickle or a Fast charger.

Jason ignore John, a 1 Amp charger is more than enough for your 6 AH battery. FWIW Jason, for lead acid batteries the ideal charge current is C/10 plus or minus 2. All that means is if you battery is 10 AH, you want .8 to 1.25 amps of charge current and 1 Amp is perfect. There are some exceptions like AGM batteries in general can handle up to C/4, and a handful even more. If your battery is a Gel 1 Amp is likely too high.

My bad, I thought it was a 60 amp/hr battery.
