Battery Hook-Up

Hi Everyone.. I just ran across your site today, that makes me the NEW-BE.
My solar panels are wired and installed.. I need to know how to hook up my battery bank. I'm using (4) 6 volt batteries, hooking them together to make (2) 12 volt batteries.. And then connecting them to a power inverter.. See the attach diagram.. Some one please let me know if this wiring looks correct. Thank You...

There is difference between the solar panel connection and the battery connection.

like me , im using 200ah/12v to make 400ah/24V.

Please note when two 200AH/12v battery in parallel connect, it will only increase the voltage to 24v and the capacity of the battery still is 200AH,
and to reach the 400ah/12v, we need to the two groups’ battery connect in series, just like drawing.

To the solar panel: if it in series, the voltage will increase but the current will remain the same and if it is in parallel, the voltage will remain the same but the current will increase.

To the battery: if it in series, the capacity will increase but the voltage will remain the same. And if it is in parallel, the voltage will increase but the capacity will remain the same.

Thanks for the extra info.. I'm working with 6 volt batteries. I need someone to view the attached diagram and tell me if it's correct.
Are the batteries wired correctly, too create the extra amps from each battery and also are they wired so 12 volts go to my inverter.

It will work, but for best results the positive of the inverter should go to where the the positive of the solar charge controller is.

This because the way it is, the first bank will supply more of the current than the second. By moving it, both banks will the same current.

Awe....forget it...he show only 4 real cables also......but in a strange way. I really don't think it matters.

Thi is how I hooked up my batts. with 4 cables. The inverter had its own cables.

wrong, 2 6v 100Ah batteries in series = 12V 100Ah
2 6V 100Ah batteries in parallel = 6V 200Ah
