  • Seemingly dead cell

a friend has found one bad cell in their 48v battery bank made up of 8 L16 Trojan signature batteries. Batts are only 15 months old odd. There was no SG reading. Other cells in that battery are 1,290

After full charge , 7 batts are 6,4v and one batt at 6,04v.

there is no option for a new battery due to Xmas and here in South Arica the county shuts down. What should my advise be here?? Can they limp by for a couple of weeks until they can get a replacement.?. They only use 15% of the bank around 60amps or so a night.

    Thanks all.

Not other choice but to limp by till replaced.

Thanks man. Any precautions I should pass along. Should charging voltage remain the same at 59,2? Looking at the date, is going to be at least 3 weeks until another it can be resolved with replacing the battery.

are there any other issues that may arise operating the bank woth one dead cell?

also, any clue as to why one cell failed in such a young and lightly used battery.

It may come back, but if the other cells start using water excessively, you should dial the charger back 2V in the interim -both bulk & float settings.
