I am doing a project to power a laptop via Solar, my panel rating is 60 watt, and laptop rating is 65watts, here are results of some tests i have done, I have used SPV1020 Mppt controller from ST.
Condition 1. From the panel through MPPT to laptop
--- 1.06A at laptop Shutdown
--- 1.08A at laptop on
Note:Not charging correctly when battery was completely drained out to less than 10% current was fluctuating from 0 to 1.06A
Condition 2. From AC supply through adapter
--- 1.06A when laptop shutdown
---2-2.7A when turned on
Condition 3. Connecting to 24v 17ah lead acid battery
-- battery charges at 1.7 ah at 27Volt,
why is that the MPPT algorithm cant supply more than 1.08Amp to the laptop even when more power can be actually drawn, Does MPPT works good only with battery as the load, It gives me upto 50watt when connected to 24Volt battery, but only less than 20watt to laptop, why is it so?
