    Refrigerator on solar

An inverter refrigerator tag reads 358 kwh/year.~$44.
pv watts says 3.59 sun hours for January.
Running on 24 volts with mppt what size array
what amp charge controller and battery amp hours would be needed?

Well if the fridge uses 358 per year it will consume at least 1kWh per day. (358/365 = 980wh)

A 24V battery system that can deliver 1kWh + per day will need to be about 200Ah and your panel wattage at about 500w with an MPPT charger at least 30amps.

The big problem is getting enough sunlight to recharge the battery system during the Winter. That may be hard so having a generator and battery charger is needed.

You did not mention the voltage of your refrigerator. If it is not 24V then you will need an inverter that is big enough to handle the starting wattage.

It's 120 volts but uses an inverter compressor not sure of the starting surge. But from what I understand its typically very low. So that it can use a smaller inverter.
I realize a generator would be needed.

You should try to determine what size inverter you need to start the frig. Remember it will drop your battery system voltage during the start cycle which may or may not shut down the inverter and stop the frig.
