  • Running stereo receiver directly off DC?

Hi, electrical noob here. My home stereo receiver and powered subwoofer use AC, but just convert it to DC anyway inside, so
how would a lad go about bypassing that action and running themj right off DC to spare the waste, if possible?

Sadly, they likely don't use 12V, but maybe 60V in some spots and 20V in others internallly

Buy automotive stereo stuff. Even if your battery plant is a higher voltage, it is
not too difficult to convert to 12V. Bruce Roe

I agree with Mike and Bruce. Most stereo receivers have multiple voltages inside. While what you suggest is possible, it is not practical. Either go with an inverter to drive your home stereo or better yet, go with Bruce's suggestion and use automotive gear.
