Grid Tie for AC, anything for DC ? (FOr Camping)

    hi guys,
this is my first post in SPT,
As we all know Micro Grid Tie inverter is more than enough for simple house which consume less energy, just plug and forgot, it doesn't need any battery.

Solar panel =>> connected to Micro MPPT Grid tie Inverter ==>> connected to normal domestic power socket and switch ON , simple and it reduce the bills, but it automatically OFF once the Grid is OFF, thats not a problem at all.

Is there something for DC during camping, as battery weight is large in mountain areas to handle, that is we connect solar panel to charge controller/Off grid without batteries, that is direct use of solar power (regulated) like Grid tie but without Grid and Batteries, as in forest we dont get any Grid or power connection.
    Thanks

Depends more on your loads than anything else. Some can be handled running solar direct such as water pumping or running a fan with a permanent magnet motor. Other items with higher electronics can not handle the varied output from solar PV.

So the answer is you need to design and build your loads around the capabilities of solar. For many (most) loads that's going to mean adding a charge controller and battery.

Are you talking about RV camping or tent camping? If you're in a camper, then it most likely runs on a 12V system and needs to have a 12V battery system installed. A robust battery system will be the heart of a camper's power system, with solar primarily used to recharge the batteries. Technically, the solar can run small DC loads like Wy_White_Wolf describes. But for simplicity you can think of the solar as a battery charger and the batteries as what runs all the electrical.
Rereading the OP, I'm guessing that the question relates to tent camping since weight is a concern. The battery weight is a minuscule portion of a camper's weight, hardly worth worrying about.
I'm an RV camper with 470 watts of solar

There are some small portable solar panels that can power or charge a cell phone or a small battery through a USB connection, but you won't find any type of solar DC power source that is light and has a high wattage rating.

As for your earlier statement about using a Micro grid tie inverter plugged into a power socket. I would have to say that is totally illegal in the US and can be dangerous without the proper wiring practices and over current protection. That Micro inverter can also send power out to the grid which might be determined by your meter and "consumed" power and charge you for it or send a signal to the POCO that you are generating power without a grid tie agreement with them. That is both stupid and can be very costly to a homeowner in the long run.
