  • Mooshimeter Wireless Voltage and Amperage Reader

I've been looking for a way to check the voltage of my solar panel battery bank for a little while now and there wasn't any easy or cheap way that I could find how to do this. I happened to discover a device called a Mooshimeter which looked like it did everything I wanted it to do. Using Bluetooth it talks to your iPhone or Android phone and will tell you the voltage of your batteries and will even read amps up to ten amps at the same time. It runs off of it's own two AA batteries and it should run for 6 months although I can't vouch for that yet as I've only had it for a few months. So far this thing has been great! Just open the app and right away I can see what the voltage is on my phone which gives me an idea of their charge. Just wanted to let anyone know who might be in the market for something like this. It runs for about a hundred bucks.

Just a word of warning (be prepared) I bought a meter when they had their crowdsourcing drive. And none of my 3 androids can use it, It uses a low power version of bluetooth and not all androids have the new chips yet. So mine sits, and I hope I can get a new tablet with the new bluetooth sometime.

That's good to know. I have an iPhone 5s and it works perfect but I don't have an android device to try it with so I'm glad you pointed that out. I believe it uses Bluetooth LE so it would need a device that has that chip.
