    Optimal Soldering Temperature

Hello everyone, I'm new to the DIY solar panel game. I've read many articles and watched a bunch of videos, so I have a kind of decent grasp on the whole process, but they didn't answer all of my questions. I'm sure I will have more questions down the road but here is my first one:

What is the best temperature for soldering the solar cells together. What I'm mainly concerned with is the tabbing portion of it because I do not want to damage the cell with excessive heat. Also should I set a different temperature for soldering the tabbing wire to the back (positive) side of the cell as compare to the front (negative) side? I'm currently looking to buy a weller soldering iron with an adjustable temp. Hopefully this question isn't too open ended.

    Thanks in advance.

210C seemed to work for me (both sides), however, lots of posts indicate a lower temperature is preffered.

Most importantly, make sure you use a flux pen...

You have to look to the solder you are using, SN60/40 is vastly different from the SN95/3/2 lead free stuff. Lead free requires much higher temps, and are greatly less reliable, even in commercial processes.

temperature also varys due to the sise & mass of the tip, and what you are soldering too
