I'm not for sure, but kermitas maybe using epoxy to adhere the cell to backing. I encapsulated mine entirely. Make sure you are talking about the same thing.
Good luck,

That sound just like sylgard 182 sence it takes up to 24 hrs. to cure. and 28$ is a steel because sylgard is only 20 oz. Thanks for the english version.Leave a comment:

I send question to producer about how much it is similar to Sylgard 184/182.
1.1lb (0.5kg) cost around ~$28.Leave a comment:

I have a DVD that show's you how to do something like the vacuum but I don't know how to post alink . It is interesting. I some how have three of the same DVD. A normel hairdryer might do but just to be safe you should get a hotter one, Don't you think????Leave a comment:

I think it's real good . I haven't thought about the Tedlar or EVA because I don't have the setup to do something like that.
I hope you can work it out. I don't know what the price would be so I hope it works for you.
I know a guy who made his own heat table with a vacuum in it also but I haven't heard from him in a long while.
Maybe mormal hair dryer will manage to do that ? 375F is not so much...Leave a comment:

Now I started to think about those Tedlar/EVA foil and heat gun as it is on this movie at youtube.
Calculation is : to cover my panel (1 meter x 1 meter - it shoud be around 10 square feet) it tooks 10x$1.65 of tedlar foil and 10x$1.65 of EVA foil = $33 !!!!!!
Now I am checking pricing of heat gun...
Tedlar TPE foil : "Normally in production you would use a Clamshell or Bed laminator that controls all of the pressure and heat but for most a heat gun and ingenuity will have to do."
EVA foil : "If you are going to use Tedlar as your backing, you will need a way to use vacuum and pressure to sandwich the material."
What are your thounght on this subject ???Leave a comment:

I realy like your panel. It's very good. Sorry about the sylgard, I have been looking for other things that might do but so far I haven't found anything. I'll keep looking because I'd like to see something there that is cheeper then sylgard.

I'll show you a place where the sylgard is $36.87 a peace but you have to buy three of them if you go here.:Superior Essex. and go to the onling shopping then look for DC-184-1.1 Three of them comes out to $125.44
I do know how exspensive everthing gets. Here in my town I had trouble to get the lumber companeys to cut a size that I wanted for my first panel . I got so tirer of this I went out and bought a table saw to do it myself.
It seams tha everthing cost me extra because where I'm at .( Cheyenne , Wyoming) There more into wind generaters here.. They want me to buy minimum 7 sylgards and shipping cost would be then $290 !!! So they are even not competitive to simple eBay sellers : seller1 , seller2 .
It is not easy to find any elastomer as a Sylgard 184 replacement.
I started to think about Tedlar . I don't have any heat and pressure table but maybe using heat gun... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1CJhwmMODs
PS : using this Tedlar (eBay) is it really needed to cover cells in front using EVA ?? Why everyboduy use it there (on front of the cells) ??Leave a comment:
